NewsHundreds camp out for free Paul McCartney show in LAHundreds of Paul McCartney fans lined the streets of Hollywood today (June 26) to gain access to his free show scheduled for tomorrow evening at Amoeba Records Hollywood. They were prepared to camp out overnight to receive one of the 200 coveted entry wristbands that were to scheduled to be given out tomorrow at 12:30 pm. However, store management decided to give them a break and hand out wristbands early so the fans wouldn't have to queue up overnight. "When we saw that more than 200 people had already lined up, we decided to give them out early so they wouldn't have to spend the night on the sidewalk," said a spokesperson for Amoeba Records. The show is set for 7:30pm PST tomorrow. It is McCartney's only scheduled Los Angeles performance at this time. Yayo rejects jail offer Rapper Tony Yayo has rejected the offer of spending nine months in jail in exchange for pleading guilty to assaulting a 14-year-old boy. Yayo, who founded hip-hop group G-Unit along with rapper 50 Cent, has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which include assault, harassment and endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly hitting the boy. "The prosecution's nine-month offer is one Tony vehemently rejected," said Yayo's lawyer, Scott Leemon. "It's not even a good offer for a guilty person, and Tony denies the allegations absolutely." The alleged victim is James Rosemond, the teenage son of recording executive Jimmy 'Henchman Rosemound. The case has been adjourned until September 6, reports the Associated Press. Yayo is currently free on $5,000 bail. |
